My Testimony of God’s Faithfulness
“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”
Psalm 34:8 (NKJV)
Welcome to HeavenSpun Home.
If you’ve come looking for a recipe, a homemaking tip, or encouragement for your day, I’m grateful you’re here. But before you explore the rooms of this home, I’d like to tell you why it exists.
This website is not the story of my life.
It is the story of the goodness of my great God.
Like many people, my life has been filled with blessings, joys and sorrows, unexpected turns, answered prayers, disappointments, victories, failures, and countless ordinary days. Looking back across those years, I see something I could not always recognize while I was living them. Through every season, God was faithful.
He created me in His image and began preparing me long before I understood His purpose. He patiently taught me through family life, work, ministry, success, hardship, and the quiet responsibilities of everyday homemaking. Time after time, He has shown–and continues to show–Himself worthy of my trust.
Yet the greatest gift God ever gave me was not a home, a family, or the skills shared throughout these pages.
His greatest gift was His Son.
The Bible teaches that every one of us has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No amount of hard work, good intentions, or religious effort can make us right with Him. Our only hope is found in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, rose again, and offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who place their faith in Him.
My confidence has never been in my ability to be a good wife, mother, homemaker, or teacher. My hope rests entirely in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Every blessing I enjoy and every lesson worth sharing is evidence of His grace and mercy, not my achievement.
That is why HeavenSpun Home exists.
I believe we are living in days when faithful Christian homes matter deeply. Whether the years ahead bring abundance or hardship, peace or uncertainty, God’s people are called to live wisely, love generously, steward His gifts faithfully, and keep their eyes fixed upon Christ.
This little corner of the internet is my attempt to preserve what the Lord has patiently taught me over many decades. The recipes, devotionals, pantry shelves, sewing projects, Bible studies, and practical skills found here are not simply collections of information. They are expressions of a life continually shaped by God’s goodness.
I often think of Heaven, and our calling to occupy faithfully until Jesus returns or calls us home. I believe the world will grow darker as prophecy unfurls. So I looked in the Bible for an example of how God cared for His people while they lived in a dark place.
In Scripture, Goshen was more than a place of safety. It was a testimony that God kept His promises. He cared for His people, provided for them, and remained faithful to His covenant in ways that were a visible testimony to the world.
My prayer is that HeavenSpun Home will serve as a small, modern-day reminder of that same truth—not because this home is extraordinary, but because our God is.
One day, whether the Lord calls me home or returns for His Church, I will no longer be here. None of us remains forever. But if these pages continue to encourage another family to trust Christ, steward His blessings wisely, open their home in hospitality, or discover the joy of walking faithfully with Him, then HeavenSpun Home will have fulfilled its purpose.
Above all else, I want every visitor to leave with this simple conviction:
The Lord is good. He is faithful. He loves you and He is worthy of your trust.
May you taste and see His goodness for yourself.
